History Rich Grounds

In 1942, a month after the attack on Pearl Harbor, The United States government contracted engineer, Powel Crosley to build the broadcasting station, The Voice of America. This station was used to combat Nazi propaganda and spread accurate, unbiased information around the globe. VOA was built in West Chester Township because of its high altitude and the flatness of the land – perfect conditions for radio towers and broadcasting. The Voice of America was able to broadcast telecasts in 53 different languages to provide people with knowledge on the United States' efforts during World War II and has continued to spread truth, hope, and inspiration to this day.

2023 & Beyond

Where We're Headed

The current owners, Jacquelin and Josh Vanlieu knew that they wanted to run an event venue, but were determined to find the best fit. Their goal was to create a venue that stood out from the rest by offering direct access to every type of vendor and creating a full-service venue. Currently, The Lodge at VOA is achieving that goal and providing seamless experiences for their clients. For the future of The Lodge, we plan to continue expanding our services, partnering with vendors, and providing the best event space for every occasion.
